The other day I was sitting in the car waiting for someone to come out of their friend’s house and I decided to pick up the bible and read a little. In Bible College we are reading the book of Romans so of course that is the first place I went. I wanted to reread chapter 9 because it did not make sense to me the first time I read it. I wanted to find out if I could grab onto something different this time around then when I read it before. As I read, it went from me waiting for someone, to waiting to hear the next word that God was revealing to me. (more…)

In spite of all the things that we do, we deserve to be happy. The Lord has been sharing this with me all day. No matter what the past may look like, we deserve happiness. Sometimes that is hard to believe because we condemn ourselves and we convince ourselves that happiness does not happen to “people like us”. But I have come to tell you that that just isn’t true. The word says that we are made new in Christ Jesus. That means that we cannot be held to our past and what people have seen us to be. God has washed it all away and we are now made righteous. Psalms 68:3 states, “But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful”. We are meant to be happy and have our spirit filled with joy. Those are two gifts of God’s Spirit that we are suppose to let dwell within us. (more…)
